Atole focused his discussion on the Balanced Fertilization Strategy (BFS) Program which is an FPA\u2019s Commitment to the OneDA Agenda for Food Security. FPA was tasked to enhance crop production and increase income for rice farmers through the efficient use of fertilizer and other agricultural inputs. He emphasized that with BFS implementation would:<\/span><\/p><p style=\"box-sizing: inherit; margin-bottom: 0rem; margin-left: 12px; font-size: 11px; clear: left; color: #0a0a0a; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Roboto, Arial, sans-serif; background-color: #fefefe;\">\u00a0<\/p><ul style=\"box-sizing: inherit; color: #0a0a0a; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Roboto, Arial, sans-serif; background-color: #fefefe;\"><li style=\"box-sizing: inherit; margin-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"box-sizing: inherit; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Reduce reliance on inorganic fertilizer<\/span><\/li><li style=\"box-sizing: inherit; margin-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"box-sizing: inherit; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Improve soil fertility and structure through appropriate combination of inorganic and organic fertilizer<\/span><\/li><li style=\"box-sizing: inherit; margin-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"box-sizing: inherit; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Encourage local manufacturers to resort to non-traditional fertilizers<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"box-sizing: inherit; margin-bottom: 0rem; margin-left: 12px; font-size: 11px; clear: left; color: #0a0a0a; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Roboto, Arial, sans-serif; background-color: #fefefe;\"><span style=\"box-sizing: inherit; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">This strategy will lower the price of fertilizer as the Filipino farming community would be less dependent to imported fertilizer, thus less affected by global market changes.
